Dear/ subscribers of the Chamber
Asharqia Chamber presents its best greetings to you and would inform you of receiving the letter of the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality (No. 8716 / AD) dated 23/12/1439, which referred to the regulation of the body issued by the Council of Ministers Resolution No. (216) dated (17/6/1436), and to what is stated in the third, fourth and fifth articles of the regulation, "The Authority is solely competent of the development and adoption of standard specifications and the publication of these specifications in ways that the Authority deems necessary to ensure the quality of national products, in order to enable national products to compete in domestic and international markets and working to protect the Kingdom's markets from counterfeit goods."
It is noteworthy that the Authority has issued a number of technical regulations adopted by its Board of Directors at its meeting No. (164) that was held on 19/7/1439 H, as the follows:
-Technical Regulation of Textile Products.
-Technical Regulations for Classification of Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Centers.
These two technical regulations were published in the Official Gazette on 13/12 / 1439 (24/8/2018), in preparation for their mandatory application in an effort to protect consumers and support products and the national economy.
